Michałowo is a small city located in the north-east of Poland, near Białystok. It has a population of about three thousand people.  The history of Michałowo goes back 176 years, when Seweryn Michałowski established first textile factories in 1832. The settlement was named Niezbudka and it was only one street on which lived factor workers with their families. Today Michałowo rural district is a good prosperous city with many places worth seeing and with a lot of kinds of entertainment.

It belongs to Podlachia province, whose nickname is „the Green Lungs of Poland”. There are a lot of forests and beautiful nature places so there is the clearest air in whole Poland. You can see Knyszyn Primeval Forest Scenery Park or Narew National Park in which you can go along the Narew River and enjoy picturesque landscape.

There are also many architecture monuments. Famous sights include ruins of Manor House in Hieronimowo, ruins of Catholic Church in Michałowo. There is also a Jewish cemetery and Tartar Mosque.

For more active people there are Michałowo Lake and Siemianówka Lake, where you can swim, fish, sail and windsurf.

Michałowo is also a multicultural city which is famous for regional cuisine. You can taste Podlachia’s specials like sauerkraut, lard or regional honey. It’s not everything for food lovers. In this area you can also taste Jewish, Tartar and Romani traditional dishes.

In Michałowo like in all of Poland there are four seasons. So during the whole year people can see this city in four different sights. Average summer  temperature is approximately 20^oC and 0^oC in winter.
